Job Description:
The individual in this role is responsible for overseeing and
managing all aspects of inventory within the distribution center.
They are accountable for maintaining accurate inventory records,
optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring efficient inventory
control processes. The role requires effective coordination with
various departments to facilitate smooth operations and timely
order fulfillment. The Inventory Manager also plays a crucial role
in identifying and implementing strategies to improve inventory
accuracy, reduce stock discrepancies, and enhance overall inventory
management practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop
and implement inventory management strategies and procedures to
ensure accurate and efficient inventory control. Maintain accurate
and up-to-date inventory records, including monitoring stock
levels, tracking inventory movements, and conducting regular
inventory counts. Collaborate with procurement, warehousing, and
transportation teams to ensure timely and accurate receipt,
storage, and distribution of inventory. Analyze inventory data and
trends to identify opportunities for improvement, such as
optimizing stock levels, reducing stockouts, and minimizing excess
inventory. Coordinate with sales and forecasting teams to align
inventory levels with customer demand and sales projections.
Implement and enforce inventory control policies, procedures, and
best practices to minimize errors, loss, and shrinkage. Selects,
orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines associates in
coordination with the Human Resources Department. Promote a
collaborative work environment, encouraging effective communication
and cross-training initiatives to enhance team productivity,
versatility, and skill development. Enforce comprehensive safety
protocols, conduct regular inspections, and conduct ongoing
training to ensure a secure work environment, fostering a
safety-conscious culture among Distribution center staff. Maintains
a systematic approach to 5S principles, enforcing standards for
cleanliness and organization, conducting inspections, and providing
training to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work
environment. Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as
directed by management. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related
field. Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse team leadership
within a distribution center; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Proficient in using ERP or Distribution
Systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications such as Excel,
Word, and Outlook. Demonstrates the ability to design workflows and
procedures, generate innovative solutions, identify and resolve
issues promptly, and coordinate projects effectively. Displays
proficiency in project management and coordination. Exhibits
professional experience working collaboratively in a team
environment. Shows the capacity to generate creative solutions. Has
the ability to read and interpret various documents, including
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. Demonstrates skill in writing routine reports and
correspondence. Possesses effective verbal communication skills,
with the ability to address groups of customers or employees in an
organization. Must possess excellent communication skills, both
written and verbal. Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and
thoroughness in work. Displays diligence in completing tasks in a
timely manner, utilizing effective time management skills.
Maintains a strong focus on safety, adhering to safety and security
procedures. Requires strong leadership abilities, both in managing
direct reports and leading others. Employment Type: Full Time
